Geoffery Dobsons Stinger 619 anchored up at Magnetic Island. This vessel was manufactured in PNG, and exported to Townsville in Feb 95
The Dobson Stinger 19 is used for snorkeling around magnetic Island and to fish the local areas and reef. The boat has a large canopy to protect from the north Queensland sun, two storage compartments under the canopy for life jackets or clothing, a custom-made seat/ice box, 2m long stainless steel bow rails and is powered by a Tohatsu 60hp. The Centre Console is instrumented with an Icom 402s submersible VHF marine radio with digital selective calling (DSC) technology. The DISTRESS function activates the unattended, continuous digital MAYDAY including vessel identification, Latitude / Longitude and time, to facilitate prompt response. A Navman 5500X GPS Plotter and Navman 4150 XTM Fishfinder with water temperature, boat Speed is also fitted. There are also two 1.2 m fold-down cushioned seats running between the centre console and the anchor compartment. The boat holds up to 6 people and is designed for serious fishing and family fun. |
